A Study on The Structure of The Police Force In Madhya Pradesh

Abstract
Every society must develop some mechanism to maintain its stability and organization and to maintain harmony among its members. Police is one such institutional mechanism of public control. Police are recognized as a legitimate tool in every society for maintaining peace and order. This is the reason why the police are famous for establishing order in all the societies of the world. Whatever the political system, the existence of the police has been considered mandatory in all societies. That is why the police have been accepted as a worldwide and indispensable institution for social control. The police administration in Madhya Pradesh functions under the Home Department. Police play an important role in maintaining law and order, internal security, and peace. Apart from this, the police administration also works for the implementation of the Arms Act and Other Security Act 1990. The responsibilities of the police administration also include the protection of VIPs, fire prevention, and rendering services in traffic pilgrimages, fairs, processions, etc.
